India Culture Week : Photo Exhibition on India-Indonesia Friendship

Embassy of India in Jakarta along with Regional Government of Bandung is organizing a Photo Exhibition on India-Indonesia Friendship in Bandung Creative Hub from 30 December 2017 to 5 January 2018. This is one of the first photo exhibitions to be held in the Bandung Creative Hub which was recently inaugurated.
This exhibition was inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Pradeep Kumar Rawat, Ambassador of India and Ms. Dewi Kaniasari, Head of Culture and Tourism Department, Bandung City Government on 30 December 2017. The exhibition, which has 31 historical photos, will remain open till 5 January 2018. The photo-exhibition shows warm relations between leaders of India and Indonesia, establishment of diplomatic relations, visit of President Soekarno to India in 1950 when he was Guest of Honour in India’s first Republic Day, visit of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to Indonesia for attending Bandung Conference in 1955, and photos of leaders of India and Indonesia interacting with each other during the course of past six and a half decades. The exhibition also contains photo from the State visit of President Joko Widodo to India in December 2016.
The exhibition will provide young generation of Bandung a quick look of India-Indonesia relations as well as famous Bandung Conference which was hosted by their own city.
It may be noted that apart from Photo Exhibition on India-Indonesia Friendship, the India Culture Week celebrations also includes Visit India Tourism Seminar at Savoy Hotel, Indian Food Festival at Hotel Savoy, and Indian Film Festival being held at De Majestic Theatre. There will be grand Indian cultural event with Bollywood performances on the eve of New Year. While the Tourism Seminar and the cultural event conclude the same day, the Indian Food Festival, Indian Film Festival and the Photo Exhibition on India-Indonesia friendship would continue till 5 January 2018.
It is expected that with this series of events under India Culture Week, a better appreciation of Indian art, culture and tourism would develop in the minds of Bandung people.
